Jonathan Cooper

Jon Cooper is a Professor of Pediatrics Genetics and Neurology at Washington University in St. Louis. He runs the Pediatric Storage Disorders laboratory which for over 25 years has investigated the pathogenesis of multiple forms of NCL, testing experimental therapies in a variety of mouse and large animal models. Most of this work has focussed on the central nervous system, but now extends to the effects of disease outside the CNS. This patient lead research has identified effects of disease upon the bowel and peripheral nerves and neuromuscular system. He also works closely with several Batten disease no-profit organizations.
