Raymond Wang

Dr. Raymond Wang is a biochemical geneticist and physician scientist who oversees the Batten Disease Center of Excellence at Children's Hospital of Orange County. He established the second site in the United States for intracerebroventricular administration of cerliponase alfa for patients with type 2 Neuronal Ceroid Lipofuscinosis, and together with his team of expert Child Neurologists, Pediatric Neurosurgeons, Palliative Care Pediatricians, and other staff provide clinical care for many NCL patients. Acutely aware of the critical unmet needs of patients and families with Neuronal Ceroid Lipofuscinoses and other inherited neurodegenerative diseases, Dr. Wang is committed to conducting translational laboratory research and leading clinical trials to develop therapies that will enable NCL patients to grow up and thrive without experiencing any of the difficult symptoms faced without treatment.
