Sophia Melocco Hill

Sophia serves as the Clinical Nurse Specialist, Grade 2, at the Adolescent and Young Adult Hospice (AYAH) in Manly, Sydney. Australia’s first dedicated inpatient hospice for young people aged 16 to 30 with life-limiting illnesses. In her role, she provides comprehensive nursing and clinical support, offering guidance, education, and emotional care to patients and their families. Sophia is accessible via phone and telehealth, ensuring continuous support throughout the patient's admission and care journey. She collaborates closely with general practitioners, specialists, and community health clinicians to coordinate referrals and deliver integrated care.

With 25 years of nursing experience across Australia, the United Kingdom, and Papua New Guinea, Sophia has dedicated her career to child and adolescent healthcare. Her passion lies in supporting young adults and their families during times of respite and at the end of life, considering it a profound privilege to accompany them through these critical moments. Beyond her professional commitments, Sophia is a devoted mother to four children.
